Frequently Asked Questions

1.      Why should I choose you when I can get someone to shoot my wedding for half as much?
While inexperienced photographers with insufficient equipment will no doubt shooting your wedding for less than I will, the risk you take is substantial.  Saving a few dollars now isn’t worth the regret of looking back on poor quality photography of one of the most important days of your life.  I absolutely stand by the quality of my work and the quality of the deliverables I offer and guarantee your satisfaction.

I also do not offer anything that I do not have experience in producing. All of my albums, parents' books, and prints have been ordered before and clients have been universally happy with the quality of my products.

2.      How do I book you?
Wedding dates are reserved by a 25% deposit and the signing of my Wedding Photography Contract by both myself and the bride and groom. I like to meet the bride and groom in person to work out the details of exactly they want so we can settle on a package and a price that everyone is happy with.

3.      When should I reserve my date?
Reserving earlier is always better than later. Certain times of the year are more popular than others for having weddings. Reserving early guarantees you get your date over someone else who has waited later to start looking for wedding photography.

4.      Do I have to get the exact packages you have listed on your webpage?
Not at all. The idea of the packages I have listed is to give people a basic idea of what I offer and where to start. If you are interested in what you see, we can set up a time and a date to meet and work through the details of exactly what you are looking for. Most of my clients order custom photography packages and it is no trouble at all.

5.      After the wedding, when Do I get my pictures?
I work to get the weddings proofs online for viewing as quickly as I can.  Most of the time this is within 48 hours of the end of the wedding.  If there were two photographers at the wedding, I try to have proofs up within 96 hours, or 4 days. Next, I work to get the high resolution photos delivered to you within a week of the wedding.

6.      What about the album?
I try to have the bridal album proofs finished within 10 days of the wedding (slightly longer for larger albums).  I will send the proofs to the bride and groom for approval and revisions before I order the album.  After I order, there is a two week turn around for delivery of the album.

7.      What about the other deliverables?
After I finish the bridal album, I put together the parent’s album, and lastly edit your favorite pictures and order prints.  I try to have all of this completed in the most reasonable amount of time I can, but this will vary slightly based on the size of the package ordered and my schedule.

8.      Will you travel to shoot my wedding?
Yes!  Standard travel included in all of the packages is up to 50 miles round trip.  Anything over 50 miles is 25 cent per mile for extra time and gasoline expenses. I will travel to anywhere in the south eastern United States. If the wedding is ending late at night, a single hotel room will be needed for myself and (if applicable) my asstant.

9.      What about travel for engagement sessions and rehearsal dinners?
My travel rate for engagement portrait sessions and rehearsal dinners is half the regular rate of travel (which makes it 10 cent per mile after the first 50 miles round trip). Many times the rehearsal dinner is the night before the actual wedding, so if overnight stay is required, no addition travel is necessary.

10.      Who can use the high resolution photos included in my wedding package?
The photos in the wedding package are for the bride and groom to print at their leisure.  For everyone else, convenient online ordering is available on all of the best, fully edited photos straight from my website.

11.      Do you shoot film or digital?
I shoot exclusively with top of the line digital equipment. This ensures a clean, high resolution file, with plenty of flexibility for processing. It also helps me get the pictures out to you much faster than if I were shooting film. More information on my equipment can be found here.
